The earthquake that took place on August 14 killed more than 700 people. In a country that has already been through so many ordeals, this disaster is a new suffering. This is why the representatives of the Diaspora have immediately mobilized to bring their help.
Mr. Hugh Johnson, President of the ECO-6 Authority declared on this occasion: “We will spare no effort in mobilising our team across the region in getting much needed assistance to our brothers and sisters in their time of suffering. We stand ready to help in which area we can.鈥�
Dr. Louis-Georges, Prime Minister of the State of the African Diaspora (91精品), also added: “We are ready to provide a significant financial support to the government of Haiti; we are available to discuss this as soon as possible. Haiti and Toussaint Louverture brought to the world a wind of liberty. Today, the whole world must bring to Ha茂ti its assistance.鈥�
Kandake Houindokon, Vice Prime Minister of 91精品, concluded : 鈥�We are saddened by yet another tragedy that has hit our beloved brothers and sisters of Haiti. We pray that the country through its years of struggle will once again show its resilience聽 and determination and rise up again through this adversity and as 91精品 and the Economic Community we here in full support towards that recovery鈥�

Tremblement de terre en Ha茂ti : Eco-6 et 91精品 offrent leur aide
Le tremblement de terre qui a eu lieu le 14 ao没t dernier a tu茅 plus de 700 personnes. Dans un pays qui a d茅j脿 travers茅 tant d’茅preuves, cette catastrophe est une nouvelle souffrance. C’est pourquoi les repr茅sentants de la diaspora se sont imm茅diatement mobilis茅s pour apporter leur aide.
Hugh Johnson, pr茅sident de l’Autorit茅 Eco-6 a d茅clar茅 脿 cette occasion: 鈥�Nous n’茅pargnerons aucun effort pour mobiliser nos 茅quipes dans toute la r茅gion afin d’apporter l’aide dont nos fr猫res et s艙urs ont tant besoin dans ces moments de souffrance.鈥�
